DR SK is a qualified pediatrician with MD and DNB qualification, from India who has specialised himself in counselling parents and children about the knowledge and various aspects of child health, illness, treament, diseases and their doctors. Dr SK is working as a pediatric intensivist and respiratory and infections specialist at Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital Mumbai India 400012.

    other common cause is nose block.

  3. Dear Sir, is calcium necessary for small babies. As my daughter is 14 months old now. But her Pediatrician did not recommend any calcium/ vitamin syrup for her. she weights almost 10 kgs. So pls advice.

    1. its very common to have calcium vitamin D and iron deficiency in India. Calcium is also required for bone growth. calcium is found in fishes and shell and crabs.. vegetarian diet is not common except in ragi/nachani. as we donot give early sunlight exposure to most babies they do get vitamin D deficient. that makes calcium and vitamin D necessary for most toddlers.
      cows milk calcium is not appropriate for human kids.

  4. my son 3 year 9 months old is telling about pain in his Lower left leg. I consulted a local doctor who asked me to take a X-ray of his leg. Seeing the X-ray he asked me to admit him in the hospital and suggested him to ware a diamond shaped belt on his legs so that his blood circulation or bone marrow may develop or else he may not walk properly as he grows up, but he is walking properly till now. He didn't tell me the disease's name or what is the cause of it. Please advice me what my son is really going thru. We are worried about him. Please help.

    1. its important for me to have a look at xray or the child or pictures of same to try to understand.
      poor communication with patientd by doctors makes the patient switch to other doctors.

  8. my son is 2 years old. his weight is 10 kg. he passes well formed stool after every meal. his weight is not increasing. he is not fond of eating. whenever he takes meal he excrete it.

  9. Sir, my daughter is 1 year 3 months old. She weighs near 10 kg. Since last 4-5 days she is not eating any solid food and also not drinking enough cows milk. She is feeling weak day by day. Pls advice. Let me know is this all bcz she is teething. till now she has not got even one. Thanks.

    1. not due to teething but all is like a throat infection..avoid cows milk.. give semisolid small mashed feeds more often.

  10. Hi,
    I have a kid he is of 2yrs,his main problem is that he does not eat any solid form of food we have to give him him semi form. Consulted many doctors said he does not have any problem within.
    Please suggest how to change his habit as it is getting very difficult day by day to feed him.

  11. hello sir, my one month baby's urine result shows she has 13-14 pus cells in urine... Dr give phexin antibiotic but pus cells not cured.. i dont know what to do next... pls kind me..
